Lets find out the list of best Independence Day movies which
has been made in Bollywood
The land, on which one is born and
brought up and lives, is naturally dear to him than any other land. This love
for his birthplace grows into patriotism. An individual citizen who is loyal to
it at all cost, even at the cost of his own life is a patriot. And we can see a
patriot in everyone, it runs in their blood, the patriotic spirit of being an
Indian.
This 67th Independence Day has bought
with itself a series of die-hard patriotism. To charge oneself and get a feel
of patriotism one must watch a bunch of patriotic hindi films. No doubt the
story of India’s freedom struggle has been narrated by Bollywood time and again.
Many Patriotic theme based movies have been released. And always putting an effort to make a movie
on Nationalism is certainly commendable. But don’t you think you can watch
patriotic films throughout the year and yet feel the same sense of pride every
time? For the same reason we compiled our all-time favourite patriotic films
made in Bollywood. Here's remembering eight patriotic movies of 21st
century that will be remembered for times to come.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag 2013
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag will certainly leave
you with a sense of pride for having the legendary athlete as a fellow
countryman. It is perhaps one such piece of cinematic art that bridges the gap
between the sportsman and the various incidents that led him to superstardom. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film is a
tribute to the legendary sportsman. Watch it for Farhan Akhtar.
Chak De! India 2007
The movie starred Shahrukh Khan in an
unconventional role of a Hockey player turned coach, this ground-breaking
sports drama not only highlights a patriotic angle beautifully, but also
underlines gender equality with conviction. SRK, in one of his best
screen-recitals by far, as a no-nonsense hockey coach, dives under the skin of
the emotional yet unwavering role, making it his own.
Rang De Basanti 2006
Rang De Basanti was the ‘coming of the
age’ genre film. The film chronicled about a young idealistic English
film-maker, Sue, who arrives in India to make a film on Indian revolutionaries
Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and their contemporaries and their fight for
freedom from the British Raj. It went on to create a significant history for
itself and one of the best patriotic films for the current Indian youth.
Swades 2004
Swadesh is a thought-provoking creation
that fills the youth with the desire to do their bit for their country. This
was Shahrukh’s best performance for me and still it didn’t get the result it
deserved. A well to do NRI comes to India in search of his Nanny and ultimately
finds it difficult to break the bond of attachment to his homeland. It was
reported that many NRI’s saw the movie, got inspired and permanently returned
back to India.
Lakshya 2004
One of the most inspiring movies of the
recent times. A coming-of-age flick set against the backdrop of the 1999 Kargil
war, it finely tells a poignant story with ease. How an aimless man discoveres
his ultimate goal, is the crux of this Farhan Akhtar product. As told Lakshya was
Hrithik’s one of the best performances and it was a brilliant portrayal of
human emotion during wartime.
The Legend of Bhagat Singh 2002
In this film, Ajay Devgan plays the role
of his lifetime. He perfectly fits into the character of Bhagat Singh and
displays his passions for his country. There have been quite a few movies based
on Bhagat Singh’s life and there is no doubt that this is the best among them.
Ajay Devgan even got the National Award for his brilliant portrayal of Bhagat
Singh.
Lagaan 2001
India’s official Oscar entry that year
and it almost made the Best Foreign Film award its own that year if not for
some bad luck. Lagaan dealt with the issue of Patriotism in a slightly
different way. It integrated the concept of India’s most watched game Cricket
with Nationality issue. The result as expected turned out to be a huge success
and the movie shows the true worth of Indians when given a chance.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha 2001
The legendary Sunny Deol starrer movie
broke all the box office records back then. Gadar created a historic feat of
achieving phenomenal business returns as well as triggering the emotions of
many Indians in the process too! The Love Story of an Indian Male with that of
a Pakistani Girl set against the backdrop of Partition. Add to it a mix of
brilliant music, great dialogues and brilliant acting.
